Los Angeles, CA — The Los Angeles Mad Drops are turning up the heat.
The Mad Drops are thrilled to announce the acquisition of Max Freeman, one of Major League Pickleball’s fastest-rising talents, adding a dynamic new weapon to the roster as the team continues to build toward championship contention.
Freeman, a left-handed force with a two-handed backhand, was originally selected #10 overall in the 2025 MLP Premier Free Agency Draft by the Chicago Slice. Since picking up pickleball in 2024, Freeman has made an immediate impact on the professional stage, quickly earning respect on the PPA Tour with wins over elite players including Tyson McGuffin and Ben Johns’ longtime partner, JW Johnson’s teammate, Andrei Staksrud.
Training out of Boca Raton, Florida, Freeman has already reached two mixed doubles quarterfinals and a men’s doubles quarterfinal on the PPA Tour—an impressive ascent that speaks to both his athleticism and upside.
“The LA Mad Drops are excited to welcome Max Freeman,” said team owner Alex Geesbreght. “Max brings a dynamic, left-handed presence and a versatile style of play that aligns perfectly with where we are headed as a team. His rapid rise and competitive edge make him an exciting addition to our roster. Welcome, ‘Mad’ Max!”
Freeman’s addition strengthens the Mad Drops’ lineup with speed, adaptability, and a fearless style of play that fits the team’s bold identity. As the league continues to evolve, the Mad Drops are making it clear: the future is fast, fearless, and MAD.
